Privacy policy

Get to the Moon is a content site, not a data business. We collect as little as possible and we do not sell your data. The site is supported by advertising (Google AdSense) and by affiliate links, and this page explains — plainly and without invented trackers — what that means for your data.

01What we collect

You can read the whole site without an account, and we do not ask you to log in or hand over personal details to do so. We do not build our own advertising profiles of you.

  • Aggregate analytics — page views and general traffic patterns, measured in a privacy-respecting way that does not identify you individually.
  • Server and CDN logs — our host and content-delivery network record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, for security and reliability.
  • Advertising data — our ad partner (Google) may collect data through cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, as described below.
  • Messages you send us — if you email us, we keep your message and address to reply and to handle any correction or request.

02Cookies

The only cookie our own site sets is a session cookie for our staff when they sign in to the content system at /admin — it is never set for ordinary readers. Beyond that, our advertising partner sets its own cookies (see below). Any analytics we use is configured to work without identifying you.

03Advertising & affiliate links

We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and, where permitted, to personalise them and measure their performance. You can review and adjust how Google personalises ads to you, or turn personalisation off, in your Google Ads Settings; broader opt-out tools are available from industry pages such as the Digital Advertising Alliance and Your Online Choices.

We do not currently use affiliate or paid-partner tracking links. If we add them in future, we will disclose it here and in our editorial policy, and such links never influence our editorial coverage.

04Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to deliver the site and its ads. They process data only as needed to run their service, under their own privacy terms:

  • Cloudflare — content delivery, security and DNS.
  • DigitalOcean — origin server hosting and image storage (Spaces).
  • Google — advertising via AdSense, including ad-serving and measurement cookies.

05Your rights & retention

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. Because we collect so little ourselves, this usually just means any email correspondence; for advertising data, use the Google and industry controls linked above. To make a request, contact us at the address below and we will respond.

We keep technical logs only for as long as they are useful for security and troubleshooting, and email correspondence for as long as needed to handle the matter it concerns.

06Contact & changes

For any privacy question or request, email [email protected]. If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page; material changes will be noted here.
